Sherlocking, (Cumber)bitches

Over the past year and a half Gloria and I have developed a bit of a TV viewing habit. Instead of watching shows at regular intervals, we tend to binge watch them.
We did this with the first couple seasons of The Walking Dead, Downton Abbey, and most recently, Sherlock. The irony is that Sherlock is actually a British show that has become very popular in the US, but we just discovered it while living here. Go figure. Anyway, a few weeks ago we dove in and got hooked...and proceeded to watch all 3 seasons. I suppose that would make us some form of Cumberbitches (Google it if you don't know the term).

Given that we live in London, it would be a travesty if we didn't pay a visit to 221b Baker St. So, off we went!
But first, Chipotle. It had been 2 years since either of us had been to Chipotle, and when we heard there was one right near Baker St....well that wasn't even a decision. It simply had to be done. And so it was that we entered Chipotle and were engulfed in gastronomic bliss.
Nom nom nom
Seriously, how do they inject pure happiness into the food? So damn good....

From there, it was a short walk around the corner to 221b. You pretty much can't miss it. First, there is a minuscule, understated statue right near the tube station.
Then there's the signage.
Lastly, there is a big ol' line of people waiting to go in the apartment. We chose not to go inside since the line was so long, so we took a few pics from the outside.
Stand there and look serious. Good job.
Selfie!!!
Sadly though, the exterior doesn't quite look like it does on tv.   On the show, you see something like this:
In reality, it looks like this:
There's no Speedy's. Instead there is a Sherlock Holmes Museum (the street where the exterior scenes are shot is actually about a half mile away on a different street). We did go into the museum, and as you'd expect it had loads of overpriced knick knacks, along with some cool looking Sherlock stuff.

So there you have it. 221b Baker Street in all its glory. Definitely worth a visit if you're a Sherlock fan.

Also, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and walked through a nearby park and the surrounding neighborhoods.
This is one of many things we really love about London: there is a ton of green space (considering it is a huge city), and so much beautiful architecture and history. This was definitely not available to us in Jakarta, so we try to take advantage of it as much as we can here.
Cool old building tucked away in the park
Squirrel! British Squirrel!
A medical college we happened upon. Love the grand architecture.
All in all, it was a nice little Saturday. We didn't make it to Bed, Bath, & Beyond though. We didn't have time.
